Education & Conservation Links

The following links were carefully chosen for their content concerning dolphins.  They contain pertinent information and simple ways you can help protect and preserve our ocean planet, the diversity of its eco-systems, and all its inhabitants.  There are many ways to help including writing letters, signing petitions, sending faxes and emails, making donations, or simply telling your friends and families.  Education is our most valuable tool for building a better future for our ocean planet.  Click on a link below to get started!

Dolphin Project - a comprehensive website that gives you the real story on dolphin captivity.  A must see for anyone trying to decide whether to go with a captive swim-with-the-dolphins program or a dolphin excursion in the wild.  Dedicated to the welfare and understanding of dolphins and other whales throughout the world.

Florida Keys Wild Dolphin Alliance- Local organization founded to protect the wild dolphins of the Florida Keys by establishing operator guidelines and providing education and outreach to the public.  Dolphin Watch is a proud member of the FKWDA.

International Marine Mammal Project - This organization works hard to make oceans safe for marine mammals worldwide.  Update yourself on current issues affecting dolphins and whales around the world.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society - A 'direct action' organization that sails into harms way to protect marine mammals and all other sea life. Join them in their global crusade to save dolphins ,whales and the health of our seas!
Surfrider Foundation - An effective grassroots, environmental organization dedicated to protecting our oceans, waves and beaches.  We not only love this organization because we are surfers, but also because we are dolphin lovers.  Surfrider has fought hard to preserve water quality throughout the world and also to establish and implement programs to reduce water pollution.  They also publicize and educate citizens regarding the need for strengthening the Clean Water Act to make the ocean waters safer for swimmers, surfers, and dolphins alike.
Reef Relief - A local Key West organization started in 1986 to protect one of our planets most precious resources.  Coral reefs are the most biologically diverse marine eco-systems on earth, rivaled only by the tropical rainforests on land.  Learn more about coral reefs and read about simple things you can do to help minimize our impact on the worlds oceans.
Water Planet - Swim with wild dolphins and therapeutic programs for special needs children. Can't make it to Key West?  Join Denis Richard and the Water Planet team in Panama City Beach, Florida.
